Kiln lumber drying;
Lumber drying, heat treating, set pine pitch, and sanitizing of lumber. Most 4/4 hard wood dries in the kiln from green to ready to use lumber in about a week, 8/4 in about 2 weeks. Some soft woods require less drying time.
Flat rate customer Lumber Drying Pricing for boards up to 2” thick;
- Up to (1 1/4”) thickness $1.05 per board foot.
- (1 1/2” to 2”) thickness $2.10 per board ft.
- 10% discount for drying more than 500 board ft. At a time.
- 25% discount for drying more than 1000 board ft. at a time.
Examples; 100 board ft. ( not linear ft.) of 1 1/4“ thick cherry lumber will cost $105.00 to dry. 1000 bf of 5/4 lumber will cost $787.50
100 board ft. (not linear ft.) of 2” thick maple lumber will cost $210.00 to dry. 1000 board ft 8/4 lumber will cost $1575
The IDRY Vacuum kiln does a very nice job of drying lumber, however all wood is susceptible to warping, cracking, splitting, and twisting during the drying process. Lumber owner accepts this risk.
The kiln drying target we try to achieve is 8 to 10 percent moisture content measured by a Delmhurst moisture meter reading taken at the time lumber is removed from drying. Some variation is normal in lumber. A specific moisture content target can be requested.
For lumber thicker than 2”, drying rates will be;
$0.15 per board foot per day in the kiln. For thick lumber drying projects greater than 500 board ft. $.12 per board ft. Per day. For drying projects greater than 1000 board ft. $.10 per bf per day in kiln.

Lumber and slab sales
Lumber and Live Edge Slabs.
We take special orders for lumber production, but we also keep on hand a supply of Hemlock and Hardwood ready for use lumber and slabs for sale. Some of the lumber products we offer include green, kiln dried, rough cut, planed, shiplap, Dutch lap, live edge slabs, board and batten and timber frame beams. Milled to order and dried in the IDRY Vacuum kiln If desired. Maximum length for drying is 16'6". Maximum sawmill green length 26 feet. Kin dried hardwoods start at $3.00 bd/ft.. Hemlock Green $1.25 / bd ft, and $1.35 / bd ft For boards wider than 10”. Kiln dried $2.00 bd/ft, and $2.10 / bd ft boards wider than 10”. Dried walnut starts at $6.00 per BF.
Extra long sawmill service
With our bed extension on our Woodmizer sawmill we can mill logs up to 26 feet in length. With large lumber sawmilling comes added expense. Creating long boards and beams produce a significant increase in log waste, reduction in production time, and the need for more equipment involved to handel the heavier materials. if buying lumber milled to longer lengths there is an increase in price 16’ in length and above. 16’ - 18’ $.25 per BF, >18’ - 24’ $.50 per BF, and longer than 24’ $.75 per board foot. (The kiln drying length limit is 16ft. 6 inches, longer lumber is green only)

Woodmizer 55 HP Yanmar diesel sawmill. Up to 36 inch wide cut. Fast accurate fully hydraulic high production sawmill, supported by dedicated log and lumber handling heavy equipment, provides production value to customers.
- Custom sawing rate $75 per hour and $.15 cents per board ft.
- $150 Minimum on milling projects.
- $50 Blade replacement fee for blade damage caused by metal in customer logs ( often in yard trees).
Woodmizer LT 40 Super Hydraulic and LT70 Wide sawmills
Running 2 sawmills, the Woodmizer LT40 Super Hydraulic with a 51 HP Caterpillar diesel sawmill. Woodmizer LT70 with a 55hp Yanmar diesel fully hydraulic saw mill. Supported by excavator, skid loaders, and other material handling machinery for increasing efficiency and hourly production. Custom sawing rates $75 per hour, Plus $.15 per board ft. Blade damage rate for metal in customer logs is $50 per blade.

kiln dried firewood bundled 1’x 1’ x 16”. With easy carry handles on each bundle. Purchase by the pallet 48 bundle, or by the bundle. This firewood has been heat treated and kiln dried. kills molds and pests, easier to light. and better for high efficiency wood stoves $5 a bundle and $240 for a pallet while available. No delivery, Pickup only.

The vacuum kiln uses a combination of adjustable strong vacuum, heat, and relative humidity to efficiently reduce the moisture content, and condition the wood. this is very good at removing both uncapsolated, and caps plated Moisture. The end result is a superior lumber product.
By spinning a log during the sawmill blade passing down the length of the log, the log is cut into a sized round pillar that can be used in a variety of building projects. This is accomplished by using a device called the lathe mizer attached to the log deck of the sawmill.
Firewood can be heat treated a d dried in the IDry vacuum kiln. Modern efficient wood stoves often require firewood with moisture content 18% and lower. The vacuum kiln can quickly dry and sanitize firewood killing insects, mold, mildew and other unwanted pests before being carried into your house.
Slab and beam flattening service. The Woodmizer MB 200 Slab Mizer can Handel up to 5’ x 13’ And 8” thick. $50.00 hr. Also great for flattening / planing large pieces after glue ups and epoxy projects.
